University town rental markets soaring, study shows |

| The rental property markets of the UK's university towns and cities are booming as student populations keep on growing, new research has found. According to a new study carried out by the Property Investor Show, Manchester and Brighton are among the most attractive options for property investors. As well as boasting lower prices than London, the city's remain among the most popular among students due to their excellent educational facilities as well as the excellent social scenes on offer. Nick Clark, managing director of the Property Investor Show, commented: "Investors may think that they are buying into a weak market, but as this research shows rental yields are on the increase and buy-to-let investors have a great opportunity to capitalise on the increasing demand for student accommodation, whilst taking advantage of lower house prices." This latest study comes just days after the London-based estate agency Knight Frank predicted that rents in the capital could fall by as much as five per cent over the remainder of 2008 as the market is flooded with properties. ![]() |
