| The Tenancy Deposit Scheme is succeeding in its aim of being the number one resolution groups within the UK rental accommodation sector, a new report has concluded. According to the new report from the Dispute Service, around £238 million of tenant deposits are currently being safeguarded by the scheme, with the average deposit now standing at £1,200. In addition, figures published by the website lettingnews.com show that these deposits are being safeguarded for around 217,000 private landlords across the UK and 429,000 tenants. The Dispute Service report also revealed that the Tenancy Deposit Scheme is successfully dealing with up to 3,000 enquiries from both tenants and landlords a week. Late last year, the Tenancy Deposit Service questioned users of the website Facebook and found that one third of respondents said that they have to ask their parents for the deposit on a rental property. ![]() |
