South coast attracting property interest |
30 2008 |
| Towns on the south coast are proving to be increasingly popular with people looking for properties to rent or buy, it has been revealed today. New monthly figures from property website PropertyFinder.com confirm that Eastbourne has moved up from number three to the top of the rankings. And with Brighton sitting at number 13 in the national list, it certainly seems that the South Downs is an area in high demand. Nicholas Leeming, the website's director, said: "Eastbourne is well within commuting distance to London and appeals to younger families seeking a seaside location but wanting a London income." The growing trend also appears to be confirmed by the fact that other south coast towns such as Southampton and Bournemouth also feature in the top 15. The latest figures follow a recent declaration by the website that Britons are willing to put their hands in their pockets and fork out considerably more for seaside properties compared to their urban counterparts. ![]() |
