| Kensington & Chelsea and Notting Hill will continue to be the most desirable places in London to live in 2008, though a number of less glamorous suburbs are steadily catching them up, a new study has found. According to a recent current_article in the Daily Telegraph, the districts just west of the centre will continue to benefit from city bonuses and high levels of investment, with buy-to-let landlords looking to cash in on the high number of top-end renters looking to live in one of the most fashionable areas of country. More affordable for most buyers and renters are districts such as Hammersmith and White City and, on the other side of the Thames, Battersea and Wandsworth. Commenting on the popularity of the south-west districts, Hugo Headlam, associate director of John D Wood's Wandsworth office, told the newspaper: "Media and entertainment people also love the areas because you can get to the South Bank and GMTV easily." The Greenwich Peninsula, Shad Thames and Docklands were also cited as good opportunities for property investors due to the high tenant demand there. ![]() |
