Renter Law finally decides to put down roots

In proof that financial considerations are not the only reason to rent rather than buy, Jude Law has just chosen to purchase a house he has been living in for the last four years.

Actor Law, who has starred in films including Closer and Enemy at the Gates, is clearly not short of a bob or two and yet apparently preferred the renting lifestyle.

It seems that he was keen to ensure he had sufficient flexibility in his life and renting enabled him to do this, but he has now resolved to set up a permanent base.

As a result, he has purchased his rented house in Maida Vale for a cool £3.5 million, and plans to spend a further £1 million on a refurb.

"Installing himself in a permanent base is an important part of Jude leaving his bachelor lifestyle behind, and he hopes it will help him eventually find himself a permanent partner. He would like to have more children in the future," a source told the Daily Mail.

The house is conveniently close to the house he used to share with ex-wife Sadie Frost, so he will remain near to his children.
