Playboy bunnies bounce into London |

| The swinging sixties look to be returning to London as Playboy is set to open its flagship Oxford Street store later this week. The Playboy Club on Park Lane, which was known in its prime as the Bunny Hutch, was one of the most iconic symbols of the capital during the years either side of the Summer of Love and now, with young professionals in the city now enjoying living the high life more than ever, hopes are high for the new three-story shop. "I think the brand is going to do phenomenally well here," Playboy spokeswoman Lisa Hagendorf told Reuters. "There is a real understanding of the heritage." The London opening will bring the number of stores owned by Playboy Group, which was famously set up by Hugh Hefner, to nine, with outlets already existing in Tokyo, Bangkok and Melbourne among other cities. In addition to the growing number of Russian and Arab millionaires flocking to the city, Playboy bosses are also pinning their hopes on London's young professionals who are increasingly keen to rent a flat and live the 'playboy lifestyle' for a while rather than struggling to buy a property. ![]() |
