Peckham's popularity booming among renters

After gaining a bad reputation through Only Fools and Horses, the London suburb of Peckham is once again booming in popularity due to its well-priced rental accommodation and cultural diversity.

To celebrate the launch of the new book Persia in Peckham, shops in the area are offering a special discount on 'I Love Peckham' T-shirts.

In addition, over the weekend, Peckham will host an open air cook off, with local specialists cooking up spicy food from the east.

Just recently, a report in the Independent concluded that renting in London is not as expensive as many people fear, given that the city boasts the highest gross salaries of all of the UK in addition to the highest levels of disposable income.

"Supermarket shopping is among the cheapest [and] rent and mortgages do not take up as much of your annual income as they do in the south-east," the newspaper concluded. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18391171-ADNFCR
