New sky high student accommodation plans unveiled |

| Students in London could soon find themselves living the high life as a new skyscraper dedicated to university accommodation is set to be constructed in the city's trendy East End. The planned tower, to be constructed by ISG, will offer rented accommodation to around 1,200 students and will also feature five floors of shops, bars and a gym. While the rooms are likely to be snapped up by the richest of London's students, the rejuvenation of the area surrounding the famous Spitalfields Market can be enjoyed by students on much smaller budgets due to the large number of flats to rent there. In addition to being close to the food market, students renting in the area will also be close to a number of London's universities and colleges and a stone's throw from the capital's curry centre at Brick Lane and the vibrant bars which go off it. The new tower is expected to be completed by 2010 though the area is already booming and renting there is still affordable. ![]() |
