New green tour for London festival

The Love London, Love Your Planet Festival launches on Monday and is set to feature a new 'Future London Green Tour'.

Your average tour in the capital is normally packed with standard sightseeing ventures, historic tales and folklore, plus the customary guide with a catalogue of below-par one-liners.

But this new addition to the festival is described by Future London founder Cate Trotter as, "a whistlestop tour of eco-design in the real world."

It attempts to highlight places which may have slipped under the average person's green radar, such as the impressive Palestra building near Southwark tube station - the home of the London Development Agency.

The tours are set to depart from the Brick Lane area of the East End and head for the Southbank, and promise to provide an entertaining and educational spin not always associated with green initiatives.

Future London Green Tours will run on Saturday June 7th, Sunday June 15th and Saturday June 21st.

Tours cost £5 and start at 2pm, departing from the Bishopsgate entrance of Liverpool Street station.

Anyone wishing to reserve a place should call 07886 893518.
