| The Manchester Evening News has been reporting on some of the benefits that people renting in the city see to living there. As many Polish people in the area have been voting in their home country's elections, the newspaper has asked some for their opinions on their new home in England. Piotr Mielczarek, 24, is a resident of Salford and told the newspaper: "Manchester is a great place to live and work and is close to beautiful countryside which reminds me of home." An increasing number of people are moving to Manchester to rent and the city can offer a range of opportunities as it is undergoing some extensive regeneration. The Commonwealth Games, held in the city in 2002 have proved to be a catalyst for the regeneration and growth of the city, with people heading there not only from overseas, but also from other parts of the UK. ![]() |
