Manchester transformed into winter wonderland |

| As well as being able to enjoy the Christmas markets in the city's town hall square, those renting in Manchester will now be able to get their skates on and head down to a new outdoor ice rink opened in Piccadilly Gardens. Coming as new figures show that the north-west is one of the regions of the UK where those renting a property are financially better-off than those who commit to buying, the new rink will open for the duration of the festive period. At a size of 810 square metres, Manchester's rink is among the biggest in the whole country and even those who have never skated before will be able to learn thanks to a six-week course for beginners which kicks off on December 3rd. Manchester councillor Pat Karney said: "Combining ice skating with a whole host of other seasonal attractions, such as the amazing lights, markets and the Wheel of Manchester, the city has so much to offer for an unforgettable day out for the family." ![]() |
