| Greater Manchester has scooped a hat-trick of top prizes at a top tourism awards ceremony. Alongside the Ordsall Hall Museum and the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, the city's conference and music venue Manchester Central was seen as the best in its category, with judges praising the quality and variety of its events, which make it a "flagship facility". "It boasts outstanding facilities and hugely impressive event spaces," said VisitBritain's Sarah Woodford. The fact that the Central is housed in the former railway station and G-MEX centre while the Radisson Hotel is housed in the old Free Trade Hall highlights the extent to which Manchester is booming and benefiting from continued rejuvenation. Such regeneration has seen the city's popularity among young professionals soar over recent years, with graduates from across the country heading there, while its continued popularity with students is stronger than ever thanks to its thriving music and arts scenes. ![]() |
