London welcomes World Cup drinkers |

| If proof were ever needed that London is the most cosmopolitan city on the planet, then the coming of the Rugby World Cup has provided it. Landlords across the capital have been reporting a booming trade as fans of all nationalities shun their couches in favour of watching the game in a bar surrounded by fellow enthusiasts . While nearly all establishments across the capital appear to be flying the flag of St George, establishments owned and run by all the other rugby-playing countries are becoming all too apparent. In addition to the numerous Australian and Irish bars dotted across London, the New Zealand Society have got their act together to book up venues across the city in order to provide a refuge for All Blacks Fans. Likewise, Portuguese delicatessens and restaurants are taking the short-term measure of putting up TVs for their customers to watch while even fans of lowly Georgia are catered for with the Little Georgia Café in Bethnall Green giving into popular demand and putting up a screen in their unlicensed premises. ![]() |
