London waterside regeneration plans unveiled

A new exhibition showcasing plans for the 'renaissance' of London's waterways is currently being held in the city centre.

Opened just a few days ago by one of the leading authorities on the city, the historian Peter Ackroyd, the exhibition shows how the capital is to benefit from a number of redevelopment projects over the coming months and years.

For example, hundreds of new properties are to be built along the Grand Union canal, thereby giving people the opportunity to rent an apartment overlooking a slice of London history.

In addition, stretches of the River Thames in the east of the city will also be regenerated in preparation for the forthcoming Olympic Games, with those currently renting there to benefit from improved public spaces and transport facilities to the city centre.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that plans to build a pair of new residential towers in the Battersea area of the city have been given the go-ahead, with the new project to create hundreds of new rental properties just south of the Thames. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18436133-ADNFCR
