London too expensive to buy in

New figures show that many people are leaving London because house prices are simply too high.

Buyers are being forced out of the capital, although many could stay if they rented accommodation.

According to website Move Me, the main mayoral candidates live in three of the worst affected boroughs.

Brent (home to Ken Livingstone), Islington (Boris Johnson) and Lambeth (Brian Paddick) have seen many people leave because property prices are too high.

"While there may be an ever tightening gap between the two leading mayoral hopefuls, Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson, they seem to have forgotten that people are being priced out of London as a whole," commented Keith McNeilly, co-founder of Move Me.

Despite the high house prices many people still want to live in the capital and often renting is the best way to go.

Large numbers of people enjoy renting in London until they feel ready to buy a property either in the city or elsewhere.ADNFCR-1219-ID-18577437-ADNFCR
