London students officially the UK's smartest |
26 2007 |
| Not only are they the most savvy when it comes to finding a decent flat to rent but students at London universities are the brainiest in the whole country, a recent competition has shown. The music magazine the NME tested students from across the country on their general and musical knowledge in a series of online heats before the top three institutions were invited to London for a live final. The finalists didn't have far to travel, however, as the top three composed of King's College London, Goldsmith's College and the London College of Fashion, with King's beating their local rivals to the top spot. In comparison, Cambridge and Oxford fared poorly despite their reputations, finishing in 18th and 113th places respectively. NME editor Conor McNichols, who hosted the live final, said: "People always consider Oxford and Cambridge as the universities with the most intelligent students. The results show that Britain's brainiest are heading to the capital." ![]() |
