London goes chocolate mad |
01 2007 |
| While the sheer number of special days, weeks and festivals taking place constantly in London may lead to a degree of apathy among the natives, the forthcoming Chocolate Week is sure to capture the attention of most. Kicking off on October 15th, a number of chocolate makers and shops across the city will be taking part in the event, which has been dubbed "the biggest, most indulgent, chocolate celebration the UK has ever enjoyed", by its organisers. As well as talks and demonstrations from the finest producers in the land, chocolate fountains and sculptures will be on show and, of course, free samples will be given out. Among those shops taking place are La Maison du Chocolat, Harrods, John Lewis and Waitrose while Kew Gardens and the Natural History Museum will also be hosting special events, with details available on the Chocolate Week website. Confirmation of the festival details comes as the city also enjoys the Raindance Film Festival at venues across the city. ![]() |
