Home finding service issues rental guidance

A leading home finding service has outlined guidelines for securing the right property as the rental market continues to boom.

As the property market undergoes a correction in the wider sense amidst falling house sales figures, landlords are becoming crucial to many people's short and long-term plans.

In view of the rapidly changing climate, the County Homesearch Company (CHC) has urged potential renters to move quickly to ensure they beat the competition.

Local director Katy Waite said: "People are becoming increasingly aware of how quickly the lettings market is moving and since the beginning of the year we have been inundated with requests to find the right homes for people to rent."

The CHC suggests registering interest early in order to easily keep track of the types of property coming onto the market, and letting landlords know on the spot if a property appeals.

In addition, it is claimed that having a deposit ready and being prepared to sign a contract as soon as possible could facilitate the clinching of a deal.

A combination of falling house prices and the credit crunch has left even some of the most well-to-do areas with residents crippled by debt.
