Greater Manchester football flats given the go-ahead |

| Football fans wanting to rent a unique property in Greater Manchester will have welcomed the news that plans for the £80 million redevelopment of Oldham Athletic's ground have been given the go-ahead. At a recent civic meeting, local leaders voted in favour of the proposals for Boundary Park, which will see the construction of nearly 700 new homes to buy or rent. In addition, a new fitness centre will be built, while renters will also be given the chance to watch all of Oldham's home games. Council leader David Jones told the Manchester Evening News that the decision was 'good news not only for the club, but also the Borough'. As well as being an increasingly popular destination in its own right, Oldham also attracts young professionals working in Manchester who are looking for more affordable accommodation with good links to the city centre. The news comes after local officials also gave the green light to two new towers planned for Salford, which would also see the construction of hundreds of new flats to meet the growing demand. ![]() |
