Elefest flies the flag for the south of London |

| Once again the whole 'north of the river versus south of the river' debate is set to come to the fore as this year's week-long Elefest kicks off in the capital. Proving that there is more to Elephant and Castle than cheap flats to rent and a large shopping mall, the arts festival will showcase the work of both local residents and those from outside of SE1 across a range of mediums. Following on from the opening afternoon's dance workshop on Monday 24th September, Wednesday will see the opening of the new exhibition of work by the talented folk at Cooltan Arts, entitled Brainwave. Every afternoon, visitors to the centre can enjoy the contemporary works while also doing their bit for the community, with Cooltan Arts working to provide arts facilities for those with mental health issues. As well as numerous small events, Elefest will come to an end on the Saturday with a free party hosted by the VJs of Electric Method which kicks off at 9pm at the Roxy Bar and Screen on Borough High Street ![]() |
