Eastbourne festival line-up announced

As growing numbers of young people flock to the south coast of England, Eastbourne borough council has announced plans for a two-week musical festival.

Among the big names already lined up for the Eastbourne Live Festival are the indie star Jack Penate, Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe and local bands such as Rob the Rich and The Late Greats.

In addition, the first annual event will also feature a number of drum and bass stars such as Pendulum, DJ Hype and MC Verse.

Commenting on the initiative, Adam McNaught-Davis, of the council-backed organisers EBM, told the Brighton Argus: "Being able to bring the region a top class event on its doorstep while offering young artists the opportunity to support the best there is is pretty exciting and a real first."

The city's strong music and arts scene is widely cited by property experts as one of the major reasons behind the strong rental demand among students and young professionals in neighbouring Brighton and this new event looks likely to put Eastbourne on the map.

Eastbourne Live Festival kicks off on March 15th and runs until March 29th. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18466009-ADNFCR
