e-learning scheme for private landlords launched

Tenants across the UK are set to benefit from the launch of a new scheme aimed at promoting better practice among the nation's landlords.

The new e-learning initiative from the National Landlords Association (NLA) is the first of its kind within the private rented sector, with the organisation's 14,000 members set to have access to a number of quizzes and training modules designed to highlight which areas of legislation they need to smarten up on.

In particular, landlords will be able to learn about the laws covering the termination of a tenancy agreement, meaning tenants will be less likely to come across individuals with poor knowledge of the existing laws.

By completing each module of the e-learning scheme, landlords will also be able to work towards a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualification, which will give the rental sector a recognised accreditation system.

Alison Perkins, Landlord Development Manager, NLA, said: "Residential landlords now have a structured way they can keep up-to-date with relevant changes that affect them and their properties.

"With this first ever e-learning tool created especially for landlords, they can also benefit from having a fully developed CPD record which could authenticate their competence in the sector."ADNFCR-1219-ID-18417673-ADNFCR
