Cowell urges Manchester to show it's got talent

Britain's most famous fame-maker, Simon Cowell, has issued a plea to Manchester's hidden stars to make themselves known for the next series of his hit TV show, Britain's Got Talent.

The X Factor judge and his team will be heading to the city on November 20th and will stick around for four days in the hope of being impressed, whether it be by semi-professional acts or students who only ever sing in the showers of their flats.

"As you saw last year there are no rules, you can be any age, with any talent," he said.

"And it's not just singers, magicians and jugglers, we're looking for animal acts, dancers, mime artists, acrobats, no matter what your talent is, come down to the auditions."

Not surprisingly, given the city's rich musical heritage and its buzzing arts scene, Manchester has produced its fair share of TV show talent.

As well as Shane Ward, new girl-group Hope look likely to add to the city's reputation as being a hotbed of new talent - yet another reason for people to move there. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18313568-ADNFCR
