Clapham to host experimental theatre show |

| Clapham has long established itself as a popular areas for young professionals to settle in the city, offering masses of houses and flats to rent, a host of bars and restaurants, as well as the green of the Common and good links to the centre. However, only now is this area of south-west London to be home to leading contemporary theatre. The city's Ladder to the Moon theatre company is to use the streets around Clapham Junction station to stage its new experimental work An Audience of One. Rather than a traditional piece of theatre, the new show will see two main actors as well as a supporting cast lead the audience around the streets, with individual members of the audience to be given instructions before the show starts. "The actors will come to you, tell you bits of their story and generally draw you into their world," the group explain. "The stories all interweave as you meet the rest of the audience and eventually you find yourself sitting down with everyone for a slightly surreal dining experience on the streets of Clapham Junction." An Audience of One will start on October 19th and there will be plenty of pubs on hand in nearby Clapham Village to warm up both the actors and the audience once the show is over. ![]() |
