Brighton students to be among the best-mannered

Alongside benefiting from arguably the best music scene in the UK right now and living right next to the most popular beaches in the country, students in Brighton are to be given a crash course in modern etiquette.

Students attending Brighton College will be given advice on how to dance the waltz properly, how to tie a bow tie and how to subtly apply the appropriate amount of make-up.

In addition, they will be advised on how to behave at a formal dinner in an effort to prepare them for later life.

"There will be some people who think it's elitist," said the college's development director David Gold.

"But we want students to leave Brighton College and be able to mix in any social circle, whether it's having dinner with a high court judge or the woman who serves dinner in the canteen."

Brighton's excellent academic institutions are another factor behind the strong demand for rental accommodation in the city among students who have moved there from across the UK and beyond. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18426917-ADNFCR
