Arty Bloomsbury to host festival

One of London's most famous areas, Bloomsbury, will be showcasing the work of its bohemian residents over the coming days with the Bloomsbury Festival.

Long associated with the Bloomsbury Set of writers, including Virginia Woolf, E M Forster and John Maynard Keynes, the area is still home to writers and artists, though its proximity to one of London's major universities means there are also plenty of students renting flats in the leafy north London neighbourhoods.

Among the Bloomsbury institutions opening their doors to the public for free over the weekend are the Egypt Exploration Society, the Foundling Museum, the Charles Dickens House and the October Gallery.

In addition, entertainment will be given on a special stage in Brunswick Square while a number of other arts venues, including the famous art cinema the Renoir and The Horse Hospital will also be putting on films and multi-media performances.

This being a London arts festival, there will also be a host of unannounced and impromptu events and after-parties taking place well into the night. ADNFCR-1219-ID-18320843-ADNFCR
